Baby photos recovered from a crushed, rain-exposed iPhone
A silver iPhone 17 Pro Max fell from the top of a car, was run over, and was exposed to rain through its broken housing. Recent baby photos were not fully backed up, so replacing the phone was not the first priority.

Why the original phone mattered
The front display, back glass, and housing had severe impact damage, and rain had a path inside. Recent photos existed only on this device, so the first question was whether the board could be stabilized safely enough to regain access.
